We carry the highest quality plants & Products available. But, sometimes things happen and we are here to cover it.

Hardy Trees & Shrubs (Excluding Roses)

  • Purchased from our garden center and not planted by Galbraith’s:
    • 1st year: 50% of purchase price
    • 2nd year: 25% of purchase price
  • Purchased from our garden center and planted by Galbraith’s:
    • 1st year: 100% of purchase price (excluding labor)
    • 2nd year: 25% of purchase price (excluding labor)
  • Purchased through a landscape installation:
    • 1st year: 100% of purchase price (excluding labor)
    • 2nd year: 25% of purchase price (excluding labor)

Roses

  • Warrantied to survive and bloom until October 1st of the purchase year. For exchange or store credit only.
  • Roses purchased after October 1st are not warranted.

Exchanges & Store Credit Policy

  • Exchanges are only available on warranted plants if the same variety and size is in stock.
  • If the same variety or size is unavailable, store credit will be issued.

Galbraith’s Guarantees at Time of Purchase

  1. Plants are true to name.
  2. Plants are healthy at the time of purchase.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover the following:

  1. Poor plant care by the purchaser (e.g., lack of water, overwatering, improper planting).
  2. Damage due to acts of God (e.g., drought, flooding, ice storms, wind, hail).
  3. Animal or insect damage.
  4. Plants installed into containers rather than planted in the ground.
  5. Non-performance in flowering or fruit-bearing.
  6. Vandalism or accidental damage (e.g., weed killer, lawn mower, vehicle damage).
  7. Annuals, mums, bulbs, seeds, and sod (not covered under warranty).
  8. Plants that are not truly dead at the time of return. Signs of life include:
    • Leaves still present
    • Unopened buds
    • Green stem tissue under the bark
    • Viable root system
    • Growth from below soil grade
  9. Warranty is void if false information is provided.

Note: Plants are living things and require proper care.

Warranty Claims & Returns Policy

  • Returns: Must be done within 5 days of purchase and in original condition with receipt.
  • Original sales receipt is required for all warranty claims.
    • In some cases, we may assist in locating a past sales receipt within 30 days of purchase.
    • Cancelled checks and credit card statements are not acceptable proof of purchase.
  • Replacement Value:
    • Equal to the original purchase price only.
    • Sale items are warranted at the sale price paid, not the full retail price.
    • Warranties apply to the original plant only, replacement plant material does not carry a warranty.
  • Warranty claims result in garden center credit only. No cash, check, or credit card refunds.

Additional Charges & Policies

  • Standard labor fees apply for trees/shrubs replaced by Galbraith’s outside of the labor guarantee window.
  • A disposal fee may apply if Galbraith’s removes dead plants during replacement.
  • Tree/Shrub Leaning After Planting:
    • If Galbraith’s staked the tree, we will adjust it at no charge.
    • If the tree was not staked by Galbraith’s, a labor fee applies.
  • Warranty Claims Process:
    • The dead tree/shrub must be returned with the original sales receipt.
    • If too large to transport, photos must be provided showing:
      • The entire plant from a distance.
      • Close-up images demonstrating the plant is truly dead.
    • Customers may select a replacement plant of equal or lesser value.  Any remaining credit will be applied as a store credit for future use.
    • If a more expensive plant is chosen, the price difference will be charged.
    • If planting is required beyond the 30-day labor warranty, labor fees will apply.
  • Store Credit Usage:
    • Plant warranty credits may be applied to plants or merchandise in our garden center.
  • On-Site Inspection:
    • Customers requesting an on-site evaluation of a dead/dying plants will be charged an upfront service fee of $50.

Fountains and statuary are guaranteed to be free of manufacturer defects. To file a claim, customers must submit photos of the issue to Galbraith’s, which we will forward to the manufacturer. The manufacturer has sole discretion in determining whether a claim is approved, and Galbraith’s has no influence over their decision.

If a claim is approved, the manufacturer will typically replace only the defective part, which will be included in our next incoming order. Full fountain replacements are only provided if the entire fountain is deemed defective.

Fountain pumps, hoses, and connectors are not covered under warranty by either the manufacturer or Galbraith’s.

Planting Labor

  • First 30 Days From Install Date: 100% of labor price is covered under warranty.
  • After 30 Days From Install Date: Not warrantied, Plant Replacements after 30 days will incur standard labor charges.

Fountain & Statuary Setup Labor

  • First 10 Days From Install Date: 100% of labor price is covered under warranty
  • After 10 Days From Install Date: Not warrantied, Repairs and adjustments will incur standard labor charges.
  • Returns are accepted for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
  • Holiday merchandise is non-refundable after the holiday.
  • Clearance items are final sale and non-refundable.
  • Open chemicals may be returned within seven days of purchase.
  • Original receipt is required for all returns. Copies of credit card charges or checks are not accepted for returns or guarantees.
  • No cash refunds.
    • Plants or products not picked up within 30 days of purchase are only eligible for store credit.
    • Balled and burlap (B&B) trees and shrubs are non-refundable once dug.
    • Digging B&B trees and shrubs is at Galbraith’s discretion based on survivability. High temperatures or water-saturated root balls may delay digging until conditions improve.
    • Custom orders require a 100% non-refundable deposit at the time of order.

Before any digging occurs on a customer’s property, all public utility lines (e.g., electrical, cable/internet, water, gas) must be marked by the 811Now underground marking service. Galbraith’s Landscaping & Lawn Care will contact 811Now to identify and mark these lines. We reserve the right to refuse or delay service if a customer declines to have their utilities marked. Additionally, we may refuse service in any location where work could compromise a buried utility line.

If 811Now fails to properly mark a utility line and it is damaged during service, Galbraith’s Landscaping & Lawn Care is not liable for repairs. In such cases, we will provide the property owner with 811Now’s correspondence, and it will be the owner’s responsibility to contact the appropriate utility company for repairs.

For non-public underground systems (e.g., irrigation lines, underground electrical for light posts, invisible dog fences, etc.), the property owner is responsible for marking them before service. If these lines are unmarked or incorrectly marked and are damaged, Galbraith’s Landscaping & Lawn Care is not liable for repairs.

How In-Store Pickup Works:

  • This process is available only to customers picking up their orders from our garden center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
  • A 100% deposit is required at the time of placing your custom order.
  • After we finalize your custom order , we will add it to our list of current orders. Orders are held until a our with that particular manufacturer prepaid freight minimum is reached, ensuring all customers in that grouped order receive free shipping.
  • When your order arrives at our location, we will inspect it for damage and contact you to notify you that it is ready for pickup.  We will attempt to setup a 12 hour window for when you can pickup your order.
  • We will attempt to schedule your order for pickup within 10 days of receiving your confirmation.  Any items not picked up within that 10 day window may be subject to a storage charge based on the size.
  • When you arrive, we will load your order onto your vehicle at no charge.

Important Pickup Requirements:

  • Please bring a suitable vehicle for transporting your order.
  • We will not load large fountains or statuary into vehicles not designed for cargo.
  • If you are unsure whether your vehicle is appropriate for transport, please call us at (260) 486-1587 before pickup.
  • Avoid arriving at or just before our store closing time.  (We may not have enough staff members on site at that time to load your order,)

Advantages & Considerations:

  • Cost Savings: This method can save you hundreds of dollars in freight costs compared to other direct shipping options.
  • Uncertain Delivery Timeline: Because order fulfillment depends on other customer orders meeting the minimum shipping requirement, we cannot guarantee delivery dates. This process can take anywhere from a few days to several months.
  • Need it sooner? If you require your order by a specific date, we highly recommend using our direct shipping option instead.  While the cost of shipping is higher, your order is packed individually and there is there is more consistency when it comes to delivery windows.

In-Store Pickup Cancellation Policy:

  • Before Manufacturer Submission: You may cancel your order or switch to direct shipping at any time before your order is submitted to the manufacturer.
  • After Manufacturer Submission: If your order has already been submitted for production, your deposit becomes non-refundable.
