The Bizon Blue Colorado Spruce was discovered at Bizon Nursery in Oregon and is promoted for its many wonderful characteristics. This specimen is as blue as ‘Hoopsii’, but has proven to be even denser. It is also important to note that the ‘Bizon Blue’s brilliant blue coloration is not limited to its new growth, but rather is retained on old growth. This selection has a very formal, conical shape and needs no staking to keep this attractive form. The growth habit is slightly slower than the species and its ultimate mature height is similar to that of ‘Hoopsii’.  Bizon Blue Spruce has not show susceptibility to spruce decline.
