Winter Care: Cast stone, is slightly porous, which can allow small amounts of moisture to absorb into the surface of the birdbath. If this moisture freezes, it can cause small cracks or chips in the surface of the birdbath. Do not let water freeze inside birdbath top, the pressure from the ice pushing on the sides of the bowl can break the bowl. Protect birdbaths from freezing and thawing. The birdbath may be left in freezing weather, provided it is dry and covered.

Placement: Always place birdbaths on a solid level foundation. If the birdbath is to be placed on a softer surface like the ground and the weight of the birdbath is significant, two inches of packed stone or sand will provide your birdbath a solid foundation.
