Galbraith's History

Founded in 1951 by Dave Galbraith, Galbraith's Landscaping began its history as one of 4 landscape contractors in the Fort Wayne Area.  After being in business for 15 years Dave felt that his bustling company was quickly outgrowing its original humble location on Goshen Road, across the street from the current Gateway Plaza.  In 1965, he decided to purchase a small farm which include vintage barn, which still stands today, on Indiana 37 in Northeast Allen County.  This area has now grown considerably and since been annexed into the City of Fort Wayne.

In 1965 Galbraith's Landscaping was incorporated as Dave Galbraith & Sons Landscaping with the inclusion of 2 of his sons into the business.  In 1980 Dave felt the calling of retirement and relinquished control of his company to one of  his sons, Dan Galbraith. And the family management of our business grew once more with the inclusion of Dan's daughter, Jamie Galbraith into the folds.   With these recent additions, we feel that the company philosophy that Galbraith's was founded on can successfully continue far into the future.  We believe that  you, our customer, has the right to select from the largest, most complete stock of quality outdoor plants and products available, with the service and expertise to assist you in making that perfect choice.

In this, our 64th year in business, we currently are one of the leading outlets in the region for the finest selection of nursery stock, with over 600 different species of hardy landscape plants available.  We are continuing to invest in the development of a second garden center for our loyal western Allen County, on Bass Road.  We still carry one of the single largest retail selections of quality tested potted roses in North America.  And we don't stop there.  Galbraith's is also emerging as one of the nation's largest online retailers for outdoor fountains & statuary.  We the Galbraith family vow to you, that we will never stop working to help you and your family: "Make Your House A Home!"
